Normalizes the final differentiation of cells, inhibits the proliferation of the epithelium of the ducts of the sebaceous glands, the formation of debris, facilitates evacuation. Reduces production and Isotretinoin (Accutane) the release of sebum.
Accutane (isotretinoin) should not be used by patients who are pregnant or may become pregnant. There is an extremely high risk of serious birth defects if pregnancy occurs while taking any amount, even for short periods, of Accutane (isotretinoin). Any fetus exposed during pregnancy can potentially be affected. There is no definite way to determine if an exposed fetus is affected.
Birth defects documented after exposure to Accutane (isotretinoin) include abnormalities of the face, eyes, ears, skull, central nervous system, cardiovascular system, thymus, and parathyroid glands. Cases of IQ scores below 85 with or without other abnormalities have been reported. There is an increased risk of spontaneous abortion and premature births have been reported.
