Pharmacokinetics
Suction Azithromycin is rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract, which is due to its resistance to acidic environments and its lipophilicity. After oral administration of 500 mg of azithromycin, the maximum concentration of azithromycin in the blood plasma is reached after 2.5-2.96 hours and is 0.4 mg/l. The bioavailability is 37%.
Indications
Infectious diseases caused by drug-susceptible pathogens: upper respiratory tract infections and ENT tonsillitis, sinusitis (inflammation of the paranasal sinuses), tonsillitis (inflammation of the tonsils/glands/), otitis media (inflammation of the middle ear cavity ), Scarlet fever, Lower respiratory tract infections – bacterial and atypical pneumonia (inflammation of the lungs), bronchitis (inflammation of the bronchi), Skin and soft tissue infections – erysipelas, impetigo (superficial pustular skin changes with crusting purulent), secondary infected dermatoses (skin diseases), Urinary tract infections – and negonoreyny gonorrheal urethritis (inflammation of the urethra) and / or cervicitis (cervical inflammation), Lyme disease (borreliosis – an infectious disease caused by the Borrelia spirochete).
dosage
Before the patient attributes drugs to hair sensitivity to determine that they caused a disease in a particular patient. Azithromycin should always be taken one hour before meals or 2 hours after a meal. 1 The drug is taken once a day.
Adults with upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections at 0.5 grams daily 1, followed by 0.25 grams on days 2-5 or 0.5 grams per day for 3 days (one dose of 1.5 g).
In acute infections of the urogenital tract (urogenital apparatus) single 1 g (2 tablets of 0.5 g) appoint.
If Lyme disease (borreliosis) for the treatment of the first stage (erythematogenous) appoint 1 g (2 tablets of 0.5 g) in 1 day and up to 0.5 g per day from the 2nd to the 5th day (dose of 3G course).
Children prescribe medication based on body weight. Children over 10 kg when calculating with a weight of: a s 1 day – 10 mg / kg body weight, over the next 4 days – 5 mg / kg. Possibility of a 3-day treatment. In this case, a single dose of 10 mg/kg is used. (Course dose 30 mg/kg body weight).
Recommended break in 2 hours from the reception of azithromycin and antacid drugs (lowering gastric acidity) for their simultaneous assignment.
Side effects
Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, rarely – vomiting and flatulence (accumulation of gas in the intestines). Possibly transient (transient) increases in liver enzymes. Extremely rare – rash.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics. Care should be taken when using the drug in patients with severe liver and kidney function. During pregnancy and lactation, azithromycin is not appointed, except in cases where the use of the drug exceeds the possible risk. The drug should be used with caution in patients with a history of allergic reactions.
Interactions with other drugs
Enhances the effects of ergot alkaloids, dihydroergotamine.Tetracyclines and chloramphenicol – enhancing effect (synergy), lincosamides – lowering effect. Antacids, ethanol, slow down food and reduce absorption. Slows excretion, increases serum concentration and increases toxicity of cycloserine, anticoagulants, methylprednisolone and felodipine. Inhibition of microsomal oxidation in hepatocytes, prolonged T1 / 2, slow excretion and toxicity increase the concentration of carbamazepine, ergot alkaloids, valproate, hexobarbital, phenytoin, disopyramide, bromocriptine, theophylline and other xanthine derivatives, oral antidiabetics. Not compatible with heparin.
